To enter Tanzania, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.

A visa is required for most travellers. While you can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport, we highly recommend applying for an e-Visa online at least 14 days before your departure to ensure a faster and smoother entry process.

Although Tanzanian law does not officially require a specific number of blank passport pages, it is strongly advised that your passport has at least two empty visa pages. Airlines and border officers may deny boarding or entry if your passport does not meet this requirement.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A TANZANIA VISA:

1. Visit the official e-Visa website: visa.immigration.go.tz 

2. Complete the online application form.

3. Upload a passport photo and a copy of your passport bio-data page.

4. Pay the US$50 visa fee securely online.

5. Receive your e-Visa approval by email (processing takes approximately 10 business days).

6. Print your e-Visa approval to present upon arrival.

 Pro Tips : Double-check visa rules for transit countries if you have connecting flights : some require atransit visa even for short layovers. Always confirm with your airline or embassy for the latest requirements.
